New York City and Pisco

CBS Best of New York did a write up on the best Pisco cocktails to find in the city.  I haven’t gotten around to trying these yet but next time I am in NYC you bet I will do a Pisco tour!  Here is what their list consisted of:

1.  Boludo Yerba Maté at Yerba Buena

This cocktail contains Yerba Mate infused Pisco.  Yerba Mate is a leaf that is commonly used in teas throughout South America.  It has a strong herbal and grassy taste and is similar to green tea.  It’s properties have many health benefits, including;  cholesterol lowering properties, anti-obesity properties, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory amongst others.

The cocktail also includes lime syrup, grapefruit syrup and lemon juice.  Sounds utterly refreshing!

2.  Peels Punch at Peels

This cocktail contains (other than Pisco obviously) Vermouth, lime juice, hibiscus syrup and bitters.

3.  Crepusculo at wd-50

This pisco cocktail contains sake, vermouth and crème de violette.
